Got up this morning and took a walk around the neighborhood. Mom called Lish while we were out and told her that Manny wants a heads up before they deliver the furniture and then we came back, mom snuck us each a sausage from the breakfast down stairs and we all climbed back into bed.
Around 8:20 or so, Maria from Restoration Management called to see if the momma or the dad had been in the house since last Friday. They told her no, so she said that it looks like someone broke in, and that we needed to meet her at the house to call the police!
Boy was the dad mad!! If he would have found them he'd have hurt them big time!! Good thing they were long gone!! They made a mess of the house - throwing things around and emptying boxes that were already packed by the momma and dad. They got in through the slidin glass door in the backyard and went through all the momma and dad's things, but they didn't take a whole lot - just couple of dad's guitars, a Raider "class" ring, a Raider watch, a couple of basset watches and some of mom's pearls that she forgot about 'cuz that jewelry box was in the dad's Raider Room!!
They pushed out one of the screens of the screen room to get out so that Steve wouldn't see them. Everyone from the neighborhood said that its probably 2 or 3 people that have been hanging around since the fire last week. GRRRRRR!!!
The police couldn't do anything except write a report for the insurance. The momma's not sure who's responsible -the insurance company or the restoration company? Either way - they probably got less then $1000 worth of stuff, but as the momma said "it's enough to piss off the Pope!" She was holding it together until this happened! She is so mad she can spit!! I think she took this harder than the dad! He was upset when he first learned of the break-in, but he calmed down when he realized they didn't take much. That part didn't bother the momma - she felt violate BIG TIME!! She locked the screen room window again and put a board inside the slider so they couldn't open it again, then the dad moved the Harley to Grandma's just to be on the safe side!
CRS called on the way back to the hotel and said that they were goin to deliver the appliances in an hour, so the momma called Manny and told him. He said that we could come get the keys then (1:30pm).
A weird thing happened on the way back to the hotel - the momma had the windows down like she normally does when we're driving around town (not on the freeways) and a big truck was next to us and made a loud noise and scared the Sasha half to death! She tried to climb under the momma's legs, but she was driving, so she pushed her back, rolled up the windows and turned up the radio to calm her down.
The dad had us take a bunch of stuff from the hotel and packed it up so we don't have so much to grab tomorrow and headed back out. Sasha was still a bit shakey, so the momma talked to her and told her she was OK, but she still shook any ways.
The house is really nice!! The furniture they gave us is super nice and we now have brand new washer, drier and refridgerator and 2 new flat screen TV's - one for the livin room and one for the bedroom! Oh, and the most important thing - a HUGE backyard for us girls!! It's like having a mini dog park all to ourselves!! :-) It's the real reason the moma and dad picked this place!!
We're not going to stay there tonight because 1) the momma needs to buy laundry detergent and softener so she can wash the rented sheets and blankets and 2) DirecTV can't turn on the TV's until tomorrow, so we're going back to the hotel tonight!
Sasha is still shakey in the car - we don't know what's going on! She nearly climbed over the momma when she stopped at Burger King, so she bought us a burger for our dinner tonight and the nice man at the drive up gave Sasha a french fry, but she's still all shakey and acting goofy! We all hope she's better tomorrow! She has the momma worried terribly!
The momma had a rough day, so no dog parks for us tonight! We're moving in to the rental in the morning and then dad is going back to work. The momma is going to take another night off so that we aren't left alone in the house at all on our first day, even if it is for a couple of hours!! She is SO lucky that her work is understanding and that she has vacation time coming!! :-)
While the dad is still home, she wants to go get all the stuff stuff that we'll need... soaps, TP, milk, ice, a new lunchbox for dad, soda and snacks for his lunch, bread - the basics! She'll think about what to buy for dinners and lunches later!!
Well - that's all for tonight! Wish us luck with Sasha tomorrow!! Thanks again for all the love and support!! Hugs!!
