November 30 - December 1, 2012

Hello friends!

Today is Friday and the momma went to bed at 6am (again) only to be woken up at 7:50am by the phone.  The guy said that they will be at the new old house in 15 or 20 minutes to deliver the new matress that she and the dad ordered last month.  The momma told them that they would have to wait for her 'cuz with the rain, it was going to take her at least 45 minutes to get there!  So she got up, and got dressed and ran out the door, then she thought, too bad, they're going to have to wait 'cuz she needed to go buy a GU24 light bulb (???) for the new front porch light first, so she went back to Home Depot!

She called them when she was 5 minutes away and they told her that they had already dropped the mattress off!  She's like "where did you put it?" (thinking they propped it up against the garage) and they were like "the living room 'cuz the workers didn't know where you wanted it!"!!  GRRRR!!  She didn't have to wake up after all!!  The day is NOT starting off well!!

So, she goes to the new old house since she was nearly there anyways and she sat on the new mattress and she checked out the basset hound tile they put in with the back splash (it looks GREAT!!) and checks out the bathroom.  They haven't finished putting up the holders yet, but they got the new shower curtain rod up (it needs to be there to pass inspection for whatever reason), but she noticed that they put knobs on all the bedroom doors instead of those push down kind that she had asked Freddy for.  Well, Freddy forgot to tell Joe, so Joe told John to get the turning knobs, not the push down knobs!  The momma was not happy, so she texted Joe, but he didn't text her back right away (meetings) so she decided that since she couldn't do anything else at the new old house and instead of going back to the right now house and coming all the way back for her nail appointment, she would see about getting a pedicure while she waited to have her nails done!  They had an opening, so her day just got a little bit better!!

After her appointment, she was going to get a hot dog at Sonic, but then she thought of Freddy and John working so hard back at the new old house, so she went back to see if they wanted her to get them anything.  Freddy had already left for lunch, and John had brought his, so he told her thanks anyways.  So just as the mom was leaving, he says "oh, by the way, they taped this to your front door yesterday afternoon" and he handed her a notice from Hayward Water District.  It said she has until 12/5 to pay her delinquint bill or the water will be shut off!  WHAT!!  She hadn't received a bill since they moved out - how could this be?!?!  So she gets in the BUV, hits up Sonic drive-thru and heads down to city hall to find out.  She found a parking place down the block, grabbed her umbrella and headed inside at 12:30pm, only to find out that the revenue office closes at noon on Fridays!  You've GOT to be kidding, right?!?!?  Nope!  So the momma talks to the lady at the information booth and she tells her that we moved out of our house on June 10th because of the fire and we're supposed to be moving back home next week, so we really need the water to stay on, so she really needs to pay it!  So the lady makes a phone call and they open the revenue office for the momma!!  Woo hoo!  The lady at the revenue office hears the same story and she looks it up and says "yep - it says here your bill was returned because the city doesn't forward its mail even though it was only a temperary address change!" and she let the momma write her a check without any penalties!! YAY!!

The momma has to go help take out Christmas trees at the Masonic home tonight, and she knows the dad isn't going to want to go with her, so she calls up La Imperial and gets dad one of their Super Beef Burrito's. On the way over, she gets a text from Joe, the contractor that says "Yaaaay!" so the momma writes him back and asks if we passed inspection and he writes back "No, I just signed up for Progressive insurance".  Then he wrote her again and said "Yes, we passed!"  So the momma wrote him back and told him that she was going to have to hurt him! :-)  WOO HOO!!  We passed!!  We can really start moving back home now!!  The momma was getting SO worried since she goes back to work on the 10th and they are picking up the furniture and rental stuff on the 14th!!  What a great day this is turning out to be!!  Then Auntie Terri calls and tells the momma because of the rain, they cancelled the holiday parade she was supposed to be in for the school tomorrow, so she could come and help her on Saturday instead of Sunday!!  More good news!

But, because the momma has to be up at the Masonic Home by 5:30pm, we don't get to go to the dog park AGAIN!!  Poor Sasha!!  And poor dad!!  She's just going to drive him bonkers!! (hee, hee).  Anyways, when the momma got home (almost 9pm) she loaded up the back of the BUV with all the boxes she had in the garage and she packed up some things that she knows she won't need at the right now house any more (cookie sheets and stuff and cake mixes so they know how to setup the shelves in the new pantry) and put them in the BUV, too!

The momma went on-line to check her e-mails.  She got one from Smith and Noble saying they were having a 40% off sale, so she went to their site and ordered the new honeycomb blinds for the 2 front windows.  They will be gray like the carpet!  She saved over $150!!  Then she opened the e-mail from the website where she found curio cabinets to replace the one we lost in the fire and the company that makes the ones that her and the dad had been looking at were having a sale, too, so she ordered 3 different curio cabinets - all in black, two for the living room and one for the bar area.  With that sale, she saved over $190!!  She was SO happy and the dad was even impressed! :-)

Saturday, the momma had to get up super early to go help at the Masonic Home again!  She had to be there by 7:30am!  The only good thing about decorating day, is that the momma always brings Ziploc bags so she can bring home leftover scrambled eggs and sausage for us girls!!  Auntie Terri called her at 9:30am and said that she was on her way down so they could go over to the new old house and line the shelves in the kitchen cabinets, so the momma came home just after Auntie Terri got here and they left right away so they could go to Big Lots for shelving paper!  She called Auntie Terry and told her that they would be at the new old house if she wanted to come by and she said yes, she'd be there in a little while, and she did and she brought the grandma with her.

When they got to the new old house, they unloaded the BUV and the momma gave Auntie Terri a tour of our house 'cuz she hadn't seen it yet (only pictures).  The momma noticed that they hadn't washed all the grout stuff off the backsplash tiles, so they decided to go to the Dollar Tree to get sponges and a ruler (so they could measure for the shelving paper), so they did.  The momma found some new glasses and plates (since they don't have any except for the rented stuff) so she bought those, and she bought some dishwasher soap (so they could wash the new dishes) and a bucket to hold the water for cleaning the backsplash and counters and some dish cloths too!  8 plates, 8 glasses and all that cleaning stuffs for under $40!!  Way to go bargain shopper mom!!

The mom had found some purple curtains with white polka dots for their bedroom at Wally World earlier in the week.  They were from a company called Eclipse and they said that they were for kids rooms and would block 99% of the sunlight so that the kids could get good sleep.  However, when the dad came over  today to hang up the curtain rods, the found out that they were going to let in a LOT more than 99%!!  And since the momma bought curtains that were super long, the dad and Auntie Terri tried folding them in half to see if that would work.  The length was perfect now, but they still let some light in.  :-(  Auntie Terri told the momma that she could sew them up the sides so they don't have to use safety pins (since the momma doesn't know if her sewing machine was ruined in the fire or not), so since he couldn't hand the curtains, the dad went off to the garage to see about making us girls a step for the back door.  You may remember that the momma ordered a new back door with a large doggy door built right in. But when we tried to use it the first time, it was too high from the ground up to the doggy door so only Sasha would jump in!  Apparently, they think that if you have a large breed dog, they will have tall legs and will need the doggy door  3 inches from the bottom of the door!!  I'm going to have to write to them and let them know that is not always they case!! :-)

Anyways, they got a lot done, although it didn't look like it... Auntie Terri put the shelves in the pantry and they put the cake mixes and stuff away.  They opened up all the boxes that the momma brought from the right now house and they washed all the new Pampered Chef stuffs (the grandma dried while Auntie Terri washed); Auntie Terry lined the bottom 2 shelfs for all the cabinets and the momma put the shelves together inside the new fridge.  The dad couldn't find  his level, so they couldn't hang the long curtain rod in the living room, but he didn't want to leave the windows uncovered any more, so they took the 3 panels that they bought for the living room and they put a couple of nails above the windows so they could put the curtains on them.  One panel covered one window, so they covered the 2 in the living room and the one in the bar.  The dad found an OLD comforter out in the garage and they put that one up in the entry way!  Problem solved for now!

On the way home, Auntie Terri said to the momma that they should go to JoAnn Fabrics to see if they could find some black material to put in between the curtains to help make them darker, so that's what they did!  They went to JoAnn's and the momma told one of the workers what they were looking for and she told them they had blackout material on sale for 50% off!!  They even found some lavender thread to match the curtains!  Woo Hoo!!  Auntie Terri is the BEST!!  The momma will take her out to breakfast to Country Way for doing this for us!! :-)  I'm going to have to write to Eclipse, too and tell them 75 is NOT 99%!!!

So anyways - then they went to Costco so the momma could get a couple of their hot dogs and a grilled turkey & provolone sandwich for the dad and a couple of those chocolate dipped ice cream bars they roll in almonds (dinner and dessert) and then they went home so Auntie Terri could head back over the hill before it started raining too hard again!

Oh - I almost forgot to tell you that Sasha got into stuff again when they were gone!!  The momma had a bag with doggy Halloween costumes on a kitchen chain.  She bought them at the dollar store in October (she really only bought them 'cuz the doggy in the picture looks SO much like Casper!), but Sasha decided today was the day to take them out of the bag and try to open them!  She then shredded the rest of the paper towels (I'm not saying she got back on the table, but that's where they USED to be!)!  Day 4 of not going to the dog park!!  I wonder if the parents will EVER learn?!!?

Despite Sasha being Sasha, the dad fed us before the momma got home... he even put scrambled eggs in our dinners! I was SO surprised, but not as surprised as the momma was when she got home and he told her we'd already eaten!!  The momma went to bed at 8pm 'cuz she was in such shock!  OK, maybe that wasn't the reason, but she did need a nap!! :-)

Well - that's it for today!  Not sure if they're going to do anything tomorrow, but there is LOTS going on next week!  They start moving stuff out of storage and back in to the new old house on Monday!!  The momma is getting super excited, but anxious about having to go through 800+ boxes, too!!  We're supposed to have Christmas at our house, but we may have to put that off .  We'll see... the momma says it depends on how many boxes there still are on the 23rd (I'm not sure she's kidding)!  Cross your paws for us!! :-)

One last thing before I go... the momma got an e-mail from the website she bought the curio cabinets from and they won't be delivered for 8 - 10 weeks!!  YIKES!!  Oh, well - I did hear the dad say that we don't need them right away!  Guess he got his wish!

So, my friends, until next time... Thanks once again for your continued love and support!

Until next time...Hugs!

November 26-29, 2012

Hello friends!

This has been a VERY busy week so far with LOTS going on with the house and doctors appointments for both me and the momma!!

Dad worked different hours this week.  He went in at 6am and got off at 2:30pm 'cuz he was filling in for someone who was on vacation.  On Monday he had a little bit of a melt down 'cuz he couldn't find the key to the cage age work.  He ranted and raved for about 20 minutes before he found it hiding in his bag!!  THEN he calmed down!  The rest of the day went way better

The momma got called to the house Monday afternoon.  George and Jaime wanted to finish painting the house before the rains came on Wednesday (very wise!), so the momma went over there and let them in and gave them the key from the lock box so they could lock up when the doors were dry.

When she got home, the dad was home from work, so they went to JC Penney's to look for window coverings for the new old house.  They found some paisley drapes for the living room, but you have to order the honeycomb blinds so the momma said she could do that on-line for cheaper so they went home and the momma took us to the dog park to meet our friends.  When we got home, George called and said that they couldn't get the lock-box to close and wanted to know what to do with the key.  The momma called one of our neighbors and she said that he could drop it off with her, so that's what they did.

On Tuesday, the momma went to bed when the dad got up (getting to be a habit with her), and they called to say that they wouldn't be ready for final inspection on the house until next week.  The momma was NOT happy, so she talked them into asking for final either Thursday or Friday and they agreed to try for Friday at the latest.  She then had to call everyone and postpone deliveries until after inspection (she was NOT happy!).  Before the dad came home, she went to Home Depot to buy a back porch light with a motion sensor on it (city requirement to save energy) and she needed to buy the new knobs for the bathtub and a new longer spout to go with the whirlpool tub.  Since she was there, she looked and found very cute toilet paper & towel holders and bath hooks that match the knobs for the tub and the new sink.  We left a little early going to the dog park 'cuz the new purchases needed to be at the house so the contractor could finish putting them in on Wednesday and she also needed to get the house key from Donna.  It took the momma 30 minutes playing with the lock-box to get it to work, but she finally did and was SO happy 'cuz Sasha barked the entire 30 minutes!!  Boy that girl has some lungs on her!! :-)

On Wednesday, the momma went to bed at 6am, but had to get up at 8am so she could go to the dentist.  Then she came home and loaded up the cans and plastic bottles into the BUV for the recyclers and then went to her knee doctor.  He told her that she still has a lot of arthritis in her knee so he's not sure that the little sewing he did on her meniscus is going to help her much, and that in  maybe 10 or 15 years she's going to have to have her knee replaced!  News could have been better, but at least he gave her until the 10th before she has to go back to work!  When she was leaving, the contractor called her and asked her to stop by the house, so she did.  He told her that there is a problem with the drain on the new tub - its not draining!  The plumber said that the 60 year old, 2" steel pipe only has an opening of maybe 1/4" and needs to be replaced.  She said OK, lets do it.  She then talked to the John the tile guy and asked if he could put a basset hound tile in the middle of the back splash.  He told her it wouldn't be a problem, just make sure its there tomorrow!  So, some bad news, but some good news, too!  She then went to the recyclers and got $90 for her bottles and cans!!  THEN she came home and got me and took me to my eye doctors appointment.  My doctor was VERY happy that my eye pressure was only 13 (needs to be under 20) and told the momma that in January I can take my one drop every other day to see how my eye reacts before my February recheck.  The momma made an appointment for me AND Teddi and then we went to our new old house to drop off the basset hound tile.  No one was there when we got there, so the momma let me sniff around the house and check it out!  I was SO happy to be back home!!  My tail wagged SO fast and I walked really fast from room to room to room and then I went outside and checked out all the junk in the backyard!  Boy did I have a good time!!  But then we had to go home and get the sisters and we went to the dog park to meet our friends.  It was a pretty good day!!

On Thursday, the dad was supposed to work late, but then he didn't so he and the momma went to Big Lots to look at the cafe' tables they have to see which one they might like to get for the new old house.  They don't want a regular table and besides - Sasha can't seem to keep off the one at the right now house which does not make the momma happy AT ALL!!  Maybe if it was 3 feet tall, she couldn't get up there!!  We'll see...  Anyways, then they went to a couple of other places and then over to the grandma's house.  She wasn't there, but the dad visited with her neighbor for a while, and just as they were getting ready to go out to eat, the grandma came home.  She was so happy to see them.  The dad helped her change a light bulb, and the momma got some things that they were storing under the grandpa's bed and then they went out to dinner.  They did not get home in time to take us to the dog park, so Sasha wasn't happy!  She got up on the table and took a couple of packets of graham crackers the momma had there, but she couldn't open them so she hid them all over the house.  She knocked over a roll of paper towels when she was up there, and since she couldn't get the crackers open.  The momma and the dad were NOT amused!  Its supposed to rain for the next four days - I hope the momma and dad are ready for Sasha not being able to get out and run!!  Not sure what we're going to do with her!!  Guess we'll have to wait and see... wish us luck, K?!?!

Well, that's in for now.  We're supposed to have the house finished tomorrow AND they're coming to do the final inspection sometime in the afternoon!  Wish us luck!!

More later!

In the mean time, thanks once again for your continued love and support!!

Hugs!

November 21, 2012

Hello friends!

The momma is recovering from her knee surgery and doing OK except that she can NOT sleep at night.  Do you think 24 years on graveyard has anything to do with that? :-)  She is walking better 'cuz she's been doing the exercises the doctor told her to do.  She's was only using 1 crutch around the house, just for extra support!  And then yesterday Auntie Terry and gramma Florence came by to pick her up to run errands and to check out the house and she decided not to use any.  She said it would be too hard to carry a purse AND use crutches, so she went without and just moved slower!

So, they ran errands (bank, dog food) and then went by the house.  Its SO close to being done!  The laminate floors are in at the entry way and in the kitchen,  Most of the appliances are in except for the microwave (they still have to put in the backsplash first).  The marble surround is in the bathroom and looks good with the purple paint!

The momma said that nothing can ever go perfect... first, they put in the wrong linoleum floor in the bathroom. The one they put in looks like the floor in the kitchen (kind of) but the one the momma picked out looks like the marble. So the had to stop working on the bathroom (Larry was putting in the toilet and the new pedestal sink).   Second, the faucet she ordered for the new sink is the wrong size - she ordered a 4" faucet, but the sink is set up for an 8: faucet (not connected), so they bought a new one to get it in. Then, the fridge is the EXACT size they said it was supposed to be, but that means its 1" taller than the cabinets will allow, so the cabinets above the fridge had to come out and they had to order new ones with new, shorter, doors.  AND they didn't order enough carpet, so they did the whole house EXCEPT for the bar/dining room so they have to come back and add that.  Oh, SO close!  Lastly, the momma has to have the painter come back and touch up the back of the house 'cuz apparently they weren't done with the stucco before the painting started.  Grrr!

All in all, she is SUPER happy with how things are going, just hoping we can start moving our stuff back in next week!

When they were done touring the house, the went out to lunch and then to Costco!  The momma got to ride on one of those carts so she didn't have to walk too much (she'd already walked too much yesterday) and she found a new shower head for the new bathroom (only $30!!) and she got the new forever Christmas stamps, so it was a good trip!

Then she came home and our friends Laurie and Higgs were here and then Teresa and Cassie came over.  It was a great day!

They are working in the house again today and Friday, so cross fingers that they have most of it done before the weekend.  We are scheduled to have the final inspection next week - cross paws all goes well!

Tomorrow, the momma an dad are leaving us home so they can go to Thanksgiving dinner at our cousin's apartment :-(  The momma calls her niece Bubba, but her name is Alishia.  She is cooking dinner tomorrow for 9 people (but 0 dogs!)!  The momma is going to make deviled eggs so that she can eat some!  She doesn't like mustard or onions or celery and that's how Auntie Terri makes them.  If she gets off her bottom, she will also make some chocolate peanut butter bars since cousin Nicky LOVES them!

The momma is thinking of skipping Black Friday.  She doesn't think her knee is strong enough to wait in long lines!  I think that will make the dad pretty happy since she's spending so much money on the house!  She still has to wait until they move back in to see what they "really" need (silverware, plates, toaster...)

So my friends, that is all for today.  Possibly more over the weekend...we'll see! ":-)

In the mean time, we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope that y'all get to spend it with the ones that you love!  Don't eat too much!!

Belly rubs to all our hound (and non-hound friends)!!  Hugs and kisses to all of our 2-legged friends!

Thanks once again for your continued love and support!!

October 1 thru November 16, 2012

Hello friends!

Boy has it been busy around here!  We started off October with the momma's huge fundraiser "Howl at the Moon and Whine".  The momma was SO busy but they raised a lot of money for Golden Gate Basset Rescue, so that was all that mattered!

The middle of October, the contractor gave the momma samples of carpets, so her and the dad got to pick out carpet for our house.  They said that they are tired of earth-tones so they picked a light gray carpet and they also decided that they were going to upgrade the padding.

Back in July, the momma's momma won a paint consultation at the Niles Dog Show and she gived it to the momma.  So on October 21st, she met with Barry Jennings at our house and they went over all the colors the momma and the dad had talked about.  Anyone wanting to see what colors they picked go to www.kellymoore.com and look at these colors:
All ceilings, doors and trims (except the front door) are Swiss Coffee
The living room, dining room, hallways and front bedroom are all Rice Straw
The accent wall in the dining room (soon to be the bar) is Autumn's Bronze
The dad's Raider room will be Fairfield Stone in the nook band Sand Dune for the rest of the walls
The master bedroom is Placid Pink with Speakeasy as the accent wall (the closet doors).
The hall bathroom is Pretty Princess
The kitchen is Chapelle Tint
The entry way and the exterior of the house is Fitzgerald Smoke with Roman Chariot trim and Gatzby Brick for the front door.

Most everything is now painted and looks SO good!

So then the momma sent away for samples of laminate floors that looked like stones from Armstrong.  They costed money, but the momma said it was worth it to see the samples in person and to take them to the house to look at with the paint.  They picked one called Weathered Way that is going to look SO good with the counters, paints and even the carpet in the bar area!  The floor in the kitchen AND the entry way will be the same!

Then on October 28th they went to Airport Appliance 'cuz they were having a big sale and they bought ALL of the appliances for the kitchen PLUS a new mattress and pillows!!  The momma can't wait to move back home now!!  The bed is SO comfy!!  It is 6 inches of memory foam with 2 inches of gel on top so  its like a Temperpedic without the sinking in and the heating up parts!!  Then they went to Bassett Furniture and ordered a new couch, chair and ottoman in a burgandy color that will go SO good with the light gray walls and carpet!!  The dad asked them if they get a discount 'cuz they have us basset girls and they were like "huh?!?"... they just don't get his sense of humor!  Good thing the momma does! :-)

On the 29th, we had our annual Howl-O-Ween pawty at the dog park!  Teddi was NOT ammused 'cuz the momma dressed us up as The 3 Little Pigs!  We did win a prize, but she still wasn't pleased (she IS a princess after all!)! Cassie showed up wearing a jockey, Mocha was a fireman, Bo and Alexis were army; Kate was a fairy; Gabby was a jester; Angus was a super hero; Daisy wore a Halloween bandana; Wellington was the sheriff and BJ was his prisoner!!  Kewpie, Toby and Frisky didn't dress up but we all had fun trick-or-treating and we raised $76 for rescue!!

On November 3rd the momma and the dad went and picked out which pieces of granite they wanted in their kitchen.  It was a good thing 'cuz the Kashmir White they picked out had these dark streaks through a bunch of them, so the momma picked out 2 pieces that weren't that bad and 1 piece that they could use where the stovetop is going!  They were supposed to deliver them after the cabinets were delivered and installed.  They were delivered on the 5th and finished installing on the 7th and the momma thinks they are AWESOME!!  Her kitchen is going to be SO HUGE!!

Well, also on the 3rd they started putting in the new fence in our backyard!  Its looking like a fortress and should be no way someone can hop our new fence and get into our NEW house!

On the 5th the carpet arrived with the cabinets.  On the 9th all the appliances arrived along with the laminate flooring!  As of right now, none of the flooring or appliances have been installed, but we're  hoping by the beginning of next week!

Last weekend they primed the outside of our house and then started painting it!  The only thing left to paint is the front door!  It does NOT look like the same house at all!!  Good thing it still has some of the old smells in the backyard 'cuz none of us would recognize it - not even the momma and the dad! :-)

On the 12th, the momma FINALLY had her knee surgery.  Sasha and her friends tore her meniscus in her left knee by running into her so Dr. D had to sew it up.  She was gone ALL DAY and came home really groggy and icky feeling!  She said the stuff that knocked her out upset her tummy so Auntie Terri boughted her some 7-up and Ginger Ale and some orange jell-o!  The momma says she is the bestest sister EVER!!  She stayed with the momma all day and took very good care of her!!  Thank you Auntie Terri!! XOXOXOXO

The momma invited all of our dog park friends to come by the right now house starting on the14th so that Sasha can have play dates and the momma doesn't have to leave the house.  On Wednesday Hula and Frisky came by to play.  On Thursday, Hula, Higgs, Cassie and Kewpie came over.  On Friday, Kewpie came over and we played find the biscuits inside 'cuz it was raining a little bit outside.  When they left Cassie and her momma came over just to bring the momma some Pepsi and to say HI!  Then Higgs and Frisky came over to play!  The 3 of them played SO hard until 6pm and then they went home to rest!  They're all supposed to come back on Tuesday! :-)

The dad is supposed to be taking care of the momma since she had surgery.  This is his idea of taking care of her: on Tuesday night, the dad went out and bought Taco Bell for dinner.  On Wednsday they warmed up leftover pizza.  On Thursday night, they went out to dinner with Granny Florence, Aunt Terry and Uncle Lionel for granny's birthday.  Friday night, the dad took the momma out to dinner to El Burro and then took her grocery shopping 'cuz they were out of milk and bread and ice cream and stuff.

The momma is going to be home with us for a couple of weeks at least 'cuz she doesn't go back to see Dr. Duhgman until the 28th.  We're hoping she can stay home with us for at least 4 weeks since her knee seems to hurt the most when she moves it (rolls over or lifts it up) or when one of us girls tries to lie in her lap 'cuz we're taking turns protecting her!

Anyways - that's all thats going on around here.  I got into some candy on Thursday so I've had a tummy ache for a couple of days now.  The momma has been giving me pepto bismol so it helps me, but I need to go lie down now!  Plus the momma needs me to lie down with her to help her heal more quickly (but not too quickly)!  When I start feeling better, and more things start going on with us, I'll write more often!

Until then - thanks for your continued love and support!

Hugs!

September 29, 2012

Hello friends!

Can you believe its been nearly 2 months since I last updated my blog?  I've thought about it a lot, but not much had been going on and I didn't want to bore you!  Don't get me wrong, we still do stuff nearly every day, but not all of it is blog-worthy if you know what I mean!?!?  But since it's almost October, I thought I'd  catch you up on what's been happening with the house and with the family !

The house is taking FOREVER, but we are finally seeing some improvements.  We are nowhere near being able to move back home which makes the mom both sad and happy at the same time!  Why you ask - because when we move back home she'll have over 800 boxes of stuff to go through to see what we want to keep and what we don't want in our house any more!!  She is mostly afraid that it is going to take another 4-6 months to get the house liveable and we're supposed to have Christmas at OUR house this year (Auntie Terri and Grandma said so!)!

Yes, you read that right - more than 800 boxes of stuff came out of our house!  AND another bunch of boxes of clothes, blankets, toys, dog beds and stuffed animals (more on that later)!  Everyone wants to know how we got SO much stuff into our house, and the momma tells them "one thing at a time for the past 23 years"!

In the middle of August, the company that dry cleaned our clothes and other fabric belongings called and said that they were ready.  The momma wanted to tell them to store them, but then she came to her senses and told them they could bring them here.  The momma thought that she could go through the boxes and get rid of some of the stuff that don't fit either her or the dad before we had to move back home.  So, one Friday 2 people showed up with a moving van and asked the momma where she wanted them.  She asked them if they could put the boxes upstairs in one of the spare bedrooms and they said SURE!  Well, they went up and down the stairs at least a nickzillion times and they put another 8 boxes outside with stuff that was "unsalvageable".  the momma tipped them and gave them homemade cookies for bringing the boxes upstairs for her, and after they left, she went up to see how many boxes there actually were.  Well - its a good thing she tipped them 'cuz where there was 3 empty rooms upstairs, they now have boxes in EVERY one of them!!  And not just a couple here and a couple there!  NO - the 2 regular bedrooms were pretty much filled and the "master" bedroom had several more!!  And when I say filled I mean that litterally!  There was hardly any room to move in there!  So, over the next 2 weeks, when the momma woke up early and on the weekends, she went up and started going through the all of those boxes!  She started seperating everything into its own box so they could find them easier when they went to look!  Almost everything had been put onto hangers - PJ's; shorts (yep - they safety pinned them to the hangers) sweats; t-shirts; dresses; jeans; blankets and even our costumes and bandana's!  She's already gotten rid of 5 boxes full of clothes that don't fit either of them (and probably haven't for at least 10 years or more).  She threw them into one of the empty boxes and litterally filled it back up again and then she took 3 of those boxes to the DeAnza flea market and sold some of the things to raise money for Golden Gate Basset Rescue and then her and Addy took the rest over to the Goodwill by our right now house and donated the rest!  The guy was NOT happy with them 'cuz the boxes were too heavy, but at least they are gone from our house!!  So the rooms aren't as full as they once were, and you an actually move around in all three of them!  And the big boxes that are in the left bedroom and the master beedroom have already been gone through and seperated.  She only has to go through about 10 more large boxes and a bunch of smaller 2'x2' boxes, but most of the smaller boxes have socks, sheets and stuffed animals in them so she's in no hurry!  To give you an idea of what has been done already, here is a partial list of what is now in the gone through boxes:
1 box is nothing but shorts - and its full!
1 box is nothing but sweat pants
1 box is nothing but lounge pants / pajama bottoms
1 box is all of the dad's t-shirts with sleeves that aren't for anything in particular
1 box is full of the dad's sleeveless t-shirts.  Some of these were bought this way, but most of them the dad cut the sleeves off when they got too tight.
2/3's of a box has all of dad's Raider, Sharks, Earnhardt, Earhardt, Jr. and Music (Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa) t-shirts
1 box is 2/3's full of dad's long-sleeved shirts
1 box is filled to overflowing with pants
1 box is filled to overflowing with the momma's "girlie" clothese (she doesn't wear them that often)
1-1/2 boxes are filled with blankets.
1 box is filled with light coats and sweat jackets.
1 box has the heavier coats/jackets in it
1 box has all the "dressy" clothes in it for the momma and the dad (again, don't get used much!)
1 box has just Raider stuff in it that no one will ever probably wear again, but can't get rid of yet
1 box has clothes, costumes, jackets and bandana's for us girls
1 box will have nothing but jersey's and 1 more with the dad's work clothes that he can't wear to work any more 'cuz they've gotten new uniforms since then.

Oh, and there is 2 boxes of shoes that hasn't even been looked at yet, and about 15 boxes of "stuffed animals" which is probably a combination of our dog toys and the momma's stuffed animals!

The momma has already decided that 99% of the stuffed animals are going!  She's told everyone that she doesn't need any more EVER!!  Cross paws that people listen!  Now to keep the momma from buying more, too!  Where are the stuffies going you ask?  Well, since they've all been dry cleaned, they will be donated to the firemen for Toys for Tots!  Yep - she's going to help the firemen that helped me to help kids have a great Christmas!! :-)

The momma also picked out the cabinets and whar color they're going to be, so they've been ordered.  The design is called Hartford, which means the cupboard doors will have an arch at the tops, not just squares.  They will be made out of oak and stained a chestnut color with "chocolate glaze".  Doesn't that sound yummy?!?!  The glaze helps bring out the wood grain without making the doors too dark!

Well, after that, not much went on for about 5 weeks.  About 2 weeks ago, the momma ordered the recessed lights for the kitchen.  She ordered 9 of the 6" cans and LED lights to go inside!  She also ordered 3 12-inch florescent lights to go under the cabinets (if they ever get here!) and a ceiling fan with a light for the living room since both her and the dad like the one here at the right now house.  The electrician installed them last week!  The momma got to go talk to him and tell him her idea of how the lights should be.  He told her what he would do, and she nixed it, and since its her kitchen, she got her way!  One of the lights will go over the kitchen sink.  4 of the lights will be in each side of the kitchen - 4 in the old kitchen and 4 in the old breakfast nook part of the kitchen.  She then told Jorge that she wanted 2 light switches so that she could turn these 4 on or those 4 or all 8 if she wanted to and he suggested putting in a 3-way switch so we can turn them on or off from either side of the room!  It's going to be SO AWESOME!

The new kitchen window is going to be a garden window, and since they are taking out the sliding glass door to put in more cupboards and the new double ovens, she found a new back door that has a window up top (so there is now a window on each side of that room) and a doggy door built in!!  We just heard that both of these things came in on Thursday of this week, so if they didn't get them put in yesterday, they'll do it on Monday!!  Yay - more progress!!

The other thing they did recently is pick out the color of the new carpet for the whole  house (a  light grey called "Majestic"; Granite countertops in a color called "Kashmir White" which is a cream background with swirls of grey and specs of green, blue and burgandy and what the momma calls the most amazing backsplash ever - its called "Merlot-Linear GLS Stone Mosaic, which is a fancy way to say that they are glass and stone oblong pieces in greens, beige, grey and burgandy!  It goes SO good with the countertop!  The kitchen is going to be SO COOL!  Now she needs to find the laminate flooring.  She wants it to look like stones, but its not, its laminate!  She wants the same floor for the entry way to tie the rooms together, whatever that means! (shrugs shoulders)

The one thing that the momma is working on in secret from the dad is to finish the hall bathroom, so PLEASE don't tell him!!!  Its been partially done for 3 years now and the momma wants the house to be totally finished when they move back home!  Well, yesterday, the momma went to Home Depot after work and picked out a Whirlpool Bathtub and a new shower surround to go with the new light she ordered when she ordered the kitchen lights!  Now all she needs to do is find the pedestal sink the dad bought 3 years ago and never put in (so far, the company that is storing our stuff haven't found it), so hopefullly its in the garage somewhere - that's the one place they didn't pack up!  She'd hate to have to buy a new sink when there is a brand new one somewhere - right!?!?!  Oh, and she needs to pick out a new floor and paint colors!  In fact, they need to pick out the paint colors for the whole inside of  the house!  Neither the momma or the dad are into white walls, so they're going to have fun!  The momma has been a little overwhelmed with the idea since they don't have any furniture to help decide colors from, and up until this past week, they didn't know what color carpet was going in.  Now, that the carpet is picked, it might make the paint decisions a little easier.  She better call Barry soon and get him to help her and the dad!  The momma told dad that she already knows what color she wantss for the outside of the house...  light grey walls with black trim!  She is SO beyond tired of the salmon color the house has been since they moved  in!!

The contractors say we'll be able to move back home sometime in November!  They are hoping for Thanksgiving, but it could be all the way until the end, depending on the inspectors from the city!  Cross your paws its sooner rather than later!!

Well enough about the house!  I know that's what is on everyones mind, but other things have happened, too!  For example: Teddi - the last time I typed Teddi was diagnosed with a torn ACL and the momma opted not to do the $5000 surgery!  Teddi received 8 Adaquin injections from the vet and the momma started her on SOD & Boswalla and she has been doing fantastic!  She races me and Sasha out to the ramp every morning to make sure no kitties snuck into our right now yard! The momma took us to meet some friends at Pillar Point in Halfmoon Bay today and Teddi was running all over the place!  Sure, by the time we got home, she was moving kinda slow, but that's what massages are for!

Sasha has mellowed out a bunch, but we still need to go to the dog park every day for at least 1 hour for her to play with her friends!  She's recently started chewing things up after the dad leaves for work and before the momma gets home.  The momma has gotten to where she asks "what did you get into today, Sasha" as she's walking in the door.  She's usually right!  We thought she was over it, but apparently, she's gotten really comfortable in the right now house, so she's started again!  Not good!

I had a goopy eye in August.  The momma took me back to my eye specialist to make sure I wasn't getting glaucoma in that eye, too, but knock wood, it was just a cold.  I got another bottle of drops that the momma had to put in my eye twice a day, but I'm WAY better now!

Last Thursday, the momma and the dad celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary!  The momma told her friends at the dog park that we wouldn't be there that day and she made us the most awesome dinner!  It took her 4 hours from the time she started until they ate, and the meat just basically fell off the bones!!  It was called Osso Bucco.  It's an Italian meat dish that is supposed to be the meat of the kings!  Like I said, we all loved it, but because it took forever to make, she'll probably never make it again! :-)  They went to San Francisco on Saturday night to see Chris Katan from Saturday Night Live.  He was OK, but the guys he brought with him were really funny!  Then they went to Mojo's in Fremont on their way home to see their friends band play.  They didn't get home until like 2am so I guess they had a good time without us!

The momma has been super busy!  She's been doing all kinds of stuff to help raise moiney for the bassets!!  She helped with a couple of photo shoots for hounds that had been adopted through GGBR so they could put together a Rescue Calendar for next year!  Its at the printers now so they'll be ready to sell at the auction.  Then she helped put things together to make gift baskets for the auction with Addy and Lina.  They spent 6 hours one Saturday taking pictures of everything so they could put them on the internet for the on-line portion of the auction and for the bid sheets for the live portion.  The on-line part has been going very well, so far!   Cross paws it will continue to do so!  Next Saturday is the live-auction and dinner!  The momma has to make spaghetti for 100 people.  Don't know how many people will show up, but she always makes enough so that Auntie Terri can take the rest to her school and sell it for the lunches to make money for them, too!

The dad bought himself another guitar on Thursday.  He found it in the paper for $100.  Its almost brand new.  The lady that sold it to  him bought it for her son, but he didn't want it, so the dad made out like a bandit and now he doesn't need  need to buy any more (not that that will stop him!)!

Did I mention that with all this going on, they called to schedule the momma's knee surgery?  They scheduled it for October 30th.  Then she called them back the next day and told them she couldn't do it then 'cuz she needs to be able to pass out Halloween candy to all the trick-or-treaters! :-(   So now that she cancelled it, she can't do it in November 'cuz we'll be moving back home and there is a LOT to do when we move!  And then it'll be Christmas and since we're having Christmas at our house, she'll need to wrap the presents and cook the dinner, so it can't be then, so we're now thinking New Years 'cuz "she has priorities"!  (lowers head and shakes it).

Well, now that things are moving once again around our house, I'll be able to update y'all more often then once every 2 months!  Thank you all for your patience and the encouragements I've received lately to continue writing this Blog!  I'm glad that those of you who've read it, have liked it!  More soon, I promise!!  Thanks once again for your continued love and support!

Love and hugs to y'all!!

Week of July 28, 2013

Hello friends!

Its really been a quiet week around here considering, but I thought I'd share what the family did this week:

On Monday, the momma finally got to go see HER knee doctor and guess what?!?!?  No, Not a torn ACL!!?  Just a torn meniscus!  The doctor wants to do surgery, but the momma asked him if it could wait until October 'cuz she has a BIG fundraising event coming up and he said, sure - you've waited this long!  SO, she told him OK, anytime October 8th or after 'cuz Howl at the Moon and Wine is on the 6th and she has a LOT to do to get ready for that!

Tuesday was another day of litte sleep for the momma!  She worked late 'cuz its meeting Tuesday.  Then when she got home the people from the mobile car wash were already here so she had to wait up until they were done cleaning the BUV (BOY did it need it!!).  My eye as been runny for the past week, but over the weekend, it also started gettin green boogers in it, so she called my eye doctor and they wanted me to come in at 12:15, so we did.   I am happy to report that my eye pressure tested at 10 which is GREAT and I had normal tear production, so they concluded that since they didn't see anything IN my eye, that I must have gotten something in there that irritated it and then it got infected, so I got a refill on my NO GLAUCOMA drops and got a new new one for NO MORE GREEN EYE BOOGERS one!  We didn't get hoe untl 145pm.  At 4:45 Teddi went to the vets for her 4th Adaquin injection.  Dr. Young is VERY happy with the way that Teddi is walking and thinks that if she tore her ACL, then its probably only a partial tear! :-)  However, on the way home to come get us, the momma decided that she needed more sleep and she texted our friends to tell them that we weren't going to make it to the dog park! :-(

Wednesday the mom got to go pick up her new glasses!!  She thinks they are AWESOME and says is like looking at an HD-TV all the time now!  Then she came home and got us and we went to the park for an extra half hour to make up for yesterday.

Thursday, the guy from Restoronics came by and brought the dad his guitar and amp back and took he momma's puter to clean it (hoping it doesn't skip letters anymore when it comes back!!).  Daryl from Schwan's found our right now house and brought the momma and the dad a gallon of Chocolate ice cream (Daryl is our driver from OUR house!!)!   Then the momma went over to our house to meet Patrick from the contractor's office.  He is going to help the momma design her kitchen so that it is PERFECT!!  They talked and measured and talked some more and he told the momma that he'd have something for her to look at when she got to work tonight!  When she got home the UPS guy delivered her Pampered Chef order!  2 big boxes of stuff to go thru and deliver to her friends and a 1 whole box of stuff for our new kitchen!!  Of course she isn't going wait for the new kitchen to use some of the stuff (mostly the tools), but she did put some of the big stuff back in the box and put that in the garage until she abolutely needs it!  By the time she was done seperating everything, she realized that we missed Teddi's appointment for her 2nd shot this week, so she called the vet to reschedule and off we went to the park!  When the momma got to check her e-mails at work she saw that Patrick had indeed sent her some pictures of what her kitchen could look like.  It didn't have the ovens or fridge where she hoped and the pantry was smaller, but it wasn't bad.  He asked for her thoughts (BIG mistake, Patrick!) so she did.  She asked him to move the ovens to the end by the door and to see if she could move the fridge next to the stove and a bunch of other questions.  Hopefully he'll have time to work on her gianormous requests tomorrow!

Friday, was another late day for the momma 'cuz she had another meeting!  When she left work she went to the bank and to mail a Pampered Chef order that came to her by mistake (should have been mailed to New Jersey!!).  Then she went by to see the grandma for a little bit before coming home for a nap.  She got up early so the guy could drop off her cleaned puter and so she could go have he hair done and deliver the rest of the Pampered Chef stuff to the ladies at the shop, andwhile she was there one of Stacies customers placed another order with the momma, so she now has to send out another e-mail asking her right around here friends to order some more stuff so she can get the rest of the things for her new kitchen (Crossing paws that they do!).  Then we went to the park!  Auntie Teri (Hula's momma) came over for dinner and coctails tonight and she brought the dad a bottle of his FAVORITE can't find it anymore Mango Martini mix!  The dad was SO happy, that he asked the momma to stop and buy some vodka when they went to go pick up Carmen's BBQ!  Boy does Carmen's have the bestest sauce!  The momma gave each of us girls a rib bone to gnaw on and it was yummy!!  The momma had margarita's and Auntie Teri had some kind of Rum Punch with dinner, then she tried the momma's Rita's (a mix she got from Pampered Chef - of course)!  After dinner the momma put together the stuff to make potato salad and cole slaw for our picnic with the hounds tomorrow!  By the time she went to bed she was beat!

Today we got up and packed our lunch and headed to San Francisco.  We went to Stern Grove to meet Kewpie and Lulu.  We arrived fashionably late (the momma blames the dad for taking forever in getting ready), but it was OK 'cuz Lulu's people got there right after we did!  We had a great walk!  Lots of sniffin and running!  About 1/4 of the way through, a new family joined our play group!  Ben and Donna brought 6 year old Scout to join us!  She is BEATIFUL with a deep mahogany and white coat!  We stopped at the picnic tables to get a drink and chat when another lady with anoher basset showed up looking for the momma!  Her name is Hariett and she is the foster momma for a 1-1/2 year old boy named Wally.  He was cute and super nice and he thought everyone was his friend (he didn't dislike anyone!)!  His F.M. told the momma that he had seen an orthopedist who took x-rays and told her that his elbows were growing at differnt rates and that he has mild hip displasia, so she is to limit his exercise.  But because she has stairs in her house, she's afraid that he's going to hurt himself worse, so she wants GGBR to find him a new foster/forever home!  She sai that the Milo Foundation who is his rescue is willing to give him over to GGBR, so the momma told her she would talk to Cindy thier foster coordinator about getting an e-mail plea sent out.  She also gave Harriett her e-mail address and told her to send her his bio and a picture.  Then we had a picnic!  I didn't care 'cuz I was looking for gophers, but Teddi and Sasha didn't stray too far from the table, so they got bites, but I didn't care 'cuz I was hunting!!  :-)

After the picnic, we headed home and all of us hounds took a nap.  The dad took his guitar to have it tuned up and restrung (the guys at Restoronics tightened his bridge(?) too much!?!?) and to have his car washed (guess he was jealous that our BUV was cleaner then his car!).  He brought home taco's from a taco truck near the car wash.  We got to have some of the momma's chicken in our dinners!  Yum!  Then the momma played on her puter all night trying to catch up on e-mails and facebook stuffs!  Patrick did e-mail her and answered all of her questions.  He told her that if she made the pantry bigger it would cost more and then she couldn't put the fridge next to it 'cuz then it would move the stove down next to the sink (not good).  The pictures that he sent today showed the ovens next to the door and a desk next to the fridge.  The fridge still isn't where the sink was, but I guess if they have to move pipes for the sink anyways, that it won't be that much more to move some to where the fridge is so we can have ice and water dispensers, right?!?  I guess that's something the momma will have to ask Patrick tomorrow 'cuz as it is I barely got to use it to type this 'cuz she was hogging it so much!  I had to wait until she had a margarita before she let me on!  Geesh!  How in the world am I supposed to keep my public aware of our exciting lives if she's hogging it all the time?!!?  Well, I guess the good news is that I'm finally able to and the letters aren't skipping nearly as much as they were before!!  Yay! I still have to proof read my stuff just to be sure, but it is WAY better!

We may go to the dog park tomorrow to meet our friend Higgs, but that is all that is planned for now.  Well, that and calling Auntie Terri and wishing her a Happy Birthday!!  :-)~   Hoping that this coming week is drama-free!  The momma has a busy month coming up, but mostly on the weekends, so stay tuned for those adventures!

In the mean time, that's all for now!  Thanks once again for the continued love and support!
Hugs!  <3 (BTW - does that look like a heart to you?!?!?)

Hello Friends!

This has been a boring week.  The momma AND the dad both yelled at Teddi on Monday night!  She had that shot on Saturday and now she thinks she's all better and she was running in the house!

Monday, the momma got up and went for a massage and chiropractic adjustment.  She said she felt like a limp noodle when they were done with her, so she came home, texted out friends that we couldn't come out to play and she went back to bed until dinner time!

Tuesday when the momma took her in for her 2nd shot, they asked how she was doing and the momma said "Too good!"!  And then they both went to the momma's nail appointment (she had her nails painted a dark purple!).  When they were done, they stopped by our house to see if Dave's crew was done with the asbestos abatement.  Except when they got there Andre' from down the street was standing in between Leo and Steve's house, so the momma stared to ask him what was going on when she saw smoke!!  Boy did THAT bring back some yucky memories and she started shaking!  She just couldn't believe that was happening so close to home and so soon!  She tried to get in the backyard to see what was burning, but she couldn't get the gate open.  When Chad came over, she asked him if he could hop the fence, so him and Andre' did!  Then the fire truck showed up and the momma told them that the gate was locked, so the first fireman kicked the gate down so they could bring the hose back there.  Turns out it wasn't their house, it was their back fence!!  Somehow it caught on fire and was starting to catch the behind them's neighbor's grass on fire, too!  Big Steve thinks kids were playing with matches, but we don't know for sure!  It sure shook the momma up, though!  My fireman wasn't on the truck that came to put out Leo's fence.  I'm glad 'cuz I wasn't there and I would have been sad to have missed him!

We ended up going to the park late, but we got to see our friends, so it was worth it except that Sasha got yelled at twice by a lady we'd never see before! She said that Sasha was biting her pitbull's face. The first time, the momma put Sasha on time-out until Dave told her that it was over a toy, so it wasn't really her fault, so the momma let her up. The 2nd time the lady yelled and told the momma she'd better keep an eye on her dog blah, blah blah so the momma yelled back, so they gathered up the pitty with a huge chain and left. When they were walking out, she said something about calling the city and we think she did 'cuz they walked around outside the park for a long time while she was on the phone to someone, and then they left. About 5 minutes later, a police car drove by, and the momma raised her hand to show him she was the one they called him about, but he didn't even slow down! Josh said that they probably just laughed at her when she told them that a basset puppy was attacking her pit bull! The momma said it's because they don't know Sasha - she thinks she's a pit sometimes!! After she started a fight with another new dog, the momma made us go home! She thinks that Sasha had too much energy pent up from not going to the dog park in 3 whole days! We'll see how she behaves tomorrow... Since we left a little early, the momma cooked the pepper steak that she had been marinating for 3 days! We got to have a taste and boy was it yummy!!

Wednesday, the momma was supposed to go to the knee doctor, so she got up early and took a shower.  While she was soaking her head, his nurse called up and left the momma a message saying that he was in surgery and they had to reschedule until Monday!  So, the momma went down to Gala Bakery to pick up the cupcakes for work.  She hit traffic, so it took her 45 minutes to get there, but only 25 to get home.  We did make it to the park on time, though, so that was good!  Dave told her that they were done with the clean up an that we passed the air inspection, so the momma called up Doug, our construction guy, and told him the good news!  He told the momma that we have a different project manager.  They chose him over Bruce 'cuz he worked in our area so he could pay close attention to our house when the work started.  He also told her that they were meeting at our house at 11am on Thursday to do the final measurements if she wanted to join them and meet the new guy.  She said she would try.

Thursday, the momma worked late 'cuz of meetings and then she got up early to go meet our construction guys!  She got there about 11:30 'cuz she didn't hear her alarm, but the new project manager was already gone and Doug was just putting the keys back in the lock box!  Turns out they got there early.  Doug did go back in with the momma and they checked out the house together.  All the carpet is gone!  The momma didn't think about that until later, but we thought they were going to clean the carpets in the rest of the house?!?!?  We'll have to e-mail Doug later and ask him!  Anyways, the momma said that the house looks SO big with none of our junk in there!  The hardwood floors look good in the rest of the bedrooms, so she may want to think about sealing them and leaving them alone since us girls don't go in those rooms (well, except for our bedroom!)?!?  Something to think about!

They took part of the ceiling from the living room down and there isn't one in the kitchen any more.  The only thing left in the kitchen is the old tile floor that the momma and dad put down when they first moved in (before any of us girl were born!!) and some of the super old tiles that was down when they first bought our house!  BOY was that stuff ugly!  They think its from the 70's!  The momma told Doug a couple of things that she was thinking for the kitchen, like moving the sink in front of the window, moving the fridge to where the sink was and making the window smaller so we could put cabinets in front of it.  She also asked him if the wall that was behind the fridge was a load bearing wall or could they take it out?  He told her that it WAS a load bearing wall, and if they wanted to move it at all, they would have to pay for an engineer to come in and that could be quite expensive, so they'll have to leave that wall alone!!  Then Doug told the momma that with all of her changes and additions, that it would probably cost the momma and dad about $5,000.  The momma thought that was great and Doug was happy, too!

Then the kids from across the street came over!  They couldn't believe how big the house looked, too!  Then their gram came over and and she was looking in the house, too and her and the momma caught up a little.   When they went outside, Johanna and Jacob came over so they had to go see inside, too!  The momma didn't get home until 1pm!!  She had a quick nap  and then Donn and her 2 basset girls came over so they could talk about a rescue calendar they are going to try to put together for GGBR!!  I think Sasha and I can be in it since we are both GGBR alumni!! Then it was off to the park!  I am happy to report that Sasha did not start a single fight today!!  AND that our friend Jess showed up with her human Michael, who just got his license yesterday AND Auntie Susan and Kewpie were at the big dog park passing out carrots!  I spit mine out 'cuz they weren't cooked, but Sasha and Teddi, Frisky, Jess and Meeka all liked them!  When we left, the momma stopped by and picked up  pizza at Centerville Round Table so she didn't have to cook!

Today, the momma had a bunch of appointments scheduled!  She actually got home before the dad left for work for a change (that was a first!)!  She didn't eat last night 'cuz she knew that she had to take a blood test this afternoon, but when she woke up at 12pm, she didn't feel very good, so she went early so she could hurry up and eat something!  She felt MUCH better when she did!  Jason from Resteronics came over to check out the momma's laptop.  He doesn't know why it skips letters when she is typing,so he wants to take it one day next week for the day and clean it out to see if that will help!   She sure hope so 'cuz having to type things over an over is driving us crazy!!  That's also the reason why i looks like i can't type sometimes - its the puter not my thick paws!! :-)

So anyways - the momma had 2 other doctor's appointments and then Teddi had to get her 3rd shot and the momma remembered that we were almost out of dog food (heaven forbid!), so she called Auntie Sandy to see how much longer she was going to be open.  She said she'd wait for us!  SO we went and dropped Teddi off to get stuck in the leg and while they were doing that, the momma went and bought us food - Bison and Venison this time!  Last time it was lamb, but Sasha seemed super finicky on it, but I digress... so when everyone is back in the BUV we head over to the Niles Community Park to help setup for tomorrow's dog show!  We LOVE helping to setup 'cuz we get to run off-leash!!  Well, we DID until Sasha let a chihuahua chase her WAY far away!!  The momma was so mad at her, that she made all 3 of us sit in the BUV and wait for her to finish!!  BAD SASHA!!

So on the way home, the momma had to stop and buy pancake batter for the morning!  Turns out the guy that promised her to donate Batter Blaster back in March, left the company and forgot to mention us to anyone else!!  Their nearest plant is in Newbury Park down by L.A., which is just a 5-1/2 hour drive ONE WAY from us!  They promised to donate next year, though!  Oh, good!!  That will help us a LOT tomorrow!!  OK, momma, I'll quit whining!!  Sheesh!!

After the store it was home for dinner and to play on the puter!  We have to leave here at 7am so we can go pick up the old neighbor kids!!  Destiny, Marie and Johnathon will all be coming with us!  Yay!!  The Gram and pops are supposed to drive up for the day, too and Auntie Terri is supposed to come over the hill just to see us girls!! The momma said we're all going to dinner afterward!!  What!?!??  Just the 2-leggers?!?!?  Fine!!  Just be sure to bring home some leftovers!  Sheesh!!

Well friends, that's it for tonight!  Thanks once again for the continued love and support!!  Hugs!
